What I have presented about the entrance into Heaven so far suggests two realities that you could find confusing. First, being in Heaven means being in the presence of God, sharing in the mutual presence and recognition of God seeing you and you seeing God. Second, I have described the entrance into Heaven as being an event, an activity involving you being experiencing and communicating with other people already in Heaven. This reality of experiencing both of these realities at once is possible because Heaven doesn't have time.
Human experience of time is result of free will. Each human being has to grown into the fullness of human potential. Through that potential an individual finds a unique perspective of how each of us shares in the creative life and love of God. Our human life from birth to death is the training grounds for developing this potential, our awareness of who we are, and a loving responsibility for our actions. Because our actions have consequence, we are bond in time: we have a past where our actions and choices were made and locked in history; we have a present where we act and choose; and we have a future into which we move because of our actions and choices. Time is necessary to grow into the freedom of being human because we have to accept the responsibility for what we do, learn from our mistakes, and continue to attempt to be better at being human. We cannot enter into Heaven until we mature into a control of our actions and choices and an acceptance of the great power we have. That power comes from the fact that God allows each of individually to shape our lives changing his creation with our actions and choices.
We cannot enter into Heaven until we accept this power and the control of our actions it demands.
When we enter into Heaven, our training is over, and we act outside of the consequence of time, time that allowed us the freedom to grow into the fullness of our humanity. Because we are not locked into time, we are also not locked into being in one place at one time. In Heaven, we will be in many places, but we will also always be with God. In Chapter Two, the individual story I told about Janine described the adventure of Heaven, her discovery, the meeting, the encounter with the individual people and aspects of God's creation. The immensity of that creation means that the adventure unfolds: something new is always in front us; new tasks to enjoy, to accomplish are continually revealed to us; and the endless movement of sharing in the beauty of creation carries us along. At the same time, our awareness is always in the moment of being with God and God being with us. That awareness allows us to understand that God's love invites us, calls us, and propels us into a deeper involvement in creation.
Part of our training in our present life should allow us to be in the presence of God, while at the same time living our daily lives. Developing habits of prayer and meditation train us to recognize the presence of God and to be aware of that presence sometimes when we quiet our fears, misunderstandings, stress, anger, preoccupation with the things of this world as scripture advises us to do. This training can be going on in anyone. Even if a person who has not encountered a personal sense of God or belief in God, that person can still be developing the habit of reflection and self recognition that brings a morality and knowledge of the consequence of actions. That habit, that recognition allows that person to be in a place of reflection and in a place of action and choice. As that person develops in being more fully human, at some point that person will understand the source of morality and knowledge even if it is at the entrance to Heaven. Frankly even the most devout person won't fully understand the source of live and love until that person stands ready to enter Heaven.
God's love for each of us allows for the fact that each of us will have different experiences and travel different roads into the fullness of humanity. The power of each individual's story is the details of the journey to at the point experiencing God's love and God's call to each of us to accept our individual creative role in God's creation.
